A discussion was held regarding the requirements for a Class I license.
A motion was made by Mr. Dees to propose a restrictive license with the following requirements:
Seconded by Mr. Holton, motion carried.
A motion was made by Mr. Dees to amend the agenda to discuss Idaho Statute 54-5402. Seconded by Mr. Nielsen, motion carried.
A motion was made by Mr. Dees to direct the Bureau to contact the Engineering Board and invite a representative to attend the August 5, 2009 meeting. Seconded by Mr. Holton, motion carried.
CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR INSTRUCTORS
A discussion was held regarding CE instructors obtaining CE credit for teaching courses.
A motion was made by Mr. Annen to table the discussion for the August 5, 2009 meeting. Seconded by Mr. Holton, motion carried.
BACKFLOW ASSEMBLY TESTER INSTRUCTOR REQUIREMENTS
Mr. Thompson discussed the BAT instructor requirements from surrounding states.
When the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality oversaw licensing the following were the requirements for BAT instructors:
The Board will discuss this further at its next meeting.
DEQ’S REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Mr. Nielsen informed the Board that DEQ has sent out the RFP to CE providers.
The Board was concerned that the CE requirement for new Very Small Water System licensure be available to operators around the state.
