Chairman Wachtler called the meeting to order at 1:05p.m.
Ms. Larsen moved to approve the minutes of November 10, 2005. Mr. Bell seconded the motion, and it carried.
Ms. Jacobsen reviewed the proposed rules with the Board.
Ms. Jacobsen stated the Contractor Registration is at approximately ten thousand at this time and this should result in lower indirect fees charged to the SHS Board by the Bureau.
Ms. Jacobsen reported the Board has a negative balance of $38, 428.65 at this time. The balance should improve in the next year.
Ms. Jacobsen reported that for 2006 three complaints are under investigation.
For 2005 – fifteen complaints were received. Seven remain under investigation and two await Board determination.
For 2004 – fifteen complaints were received and two remain under investigation.
Mr. Bell moved to accept the recommendation by the Bureau and close the case with notice to the Complainant to contact the Oregon Advisory Council on Hearing Aids on this matter. Mr. Seitz seconded the motion, and it carried.
Ms. O’Donnell moved to approve the recommendation of the Bureau and close the case. Dr. Cooper seconded the motion, and it carried.
Discussion was held on the expiration of licenses issued. If the license were to be issued today (1-6-2006) and the birthday of the licensee is 6-20-06 then the first expiration of the license would be 6-20-2007. Twelve months plus for the first renewal of a license.
The Bureau is to flag the newest Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters to make sure the expiration date is correct on their licenses.
Ms. O’Donnell moved to go into executive session to consider records that are exempt from disclosure as provided in chapter 3, title 9, Idaho Code. Ms. Allen seconded the motion, and it carried.
Dr. Cooper moved to come out of executive session. Mr. Bell seconded the motion, and it carried.
Dr. Cooper moved to have the Bureau follow up with the administrators and the International Hearing Society on the one question on the examination. Mr. Seitz seconded the motion, and it carried.
There are proceedings involving cases pending and a conference call is needed this month for one hour. The conference call is scheduled for January 26, 2006 at 1:30 p.m.
Mr. Seitz to go into executive session to consider records that are exempt from disclosure as provided in chapter 3, title 9, Idaho Code. Ms. O’Donnell seconded the motion, and it carried.
Ms. O’Donnell moved to come out of executive session. Mr. Bell seconded the motion, and it carried.
The Board requests that check sheets are to be made for review of applications.
The next full Board meeting is scheduled for May 11, 2006 at 1p.m. and the examination to be held on May 12, 2006 starting at 8:00a.m.
Having no further business before them Mr. Seitz moved to adjourn at 3:15p.m. Ms. O’Donnell seconded the motion, and it carried.
