Conference Call Minutes of February 13, 2003
ROLL CALL: Kathleen Wachtler, Chairman
Dr. William Cooper
Steven Rademacher, on call at 9:20a.m.
ALSO PRESENT: Janice Wiedrick, Office Specialist
Chairman Wachtler called
the meeting to order at 9:10a.m. for discussion of a Petition for
Reconsideration by HAD 01-22-98 DRD on the examination given on November 8,
Kelley Olenick moved to
go into executive session for discussion of possible litigation.
Dr. Cooper seconded the motion and the motion carried.
Steven Rademacher moved
to come out of executive session. Kelley
Olenick seconded the motion and the motion carried.
Dr. Cooper moved to have
Roger Hales draft a letter in response to the Petition for Reconsideration.
The letter to explain the History of the test taking and provide him with
the average scores for the tests. And
if there are further questions, he is to contact Roger Hales. Kelley Olenick
seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously.
Agenda items for the May
9, 2003 meeting:
1. Limit the number of times an examination can be taken
2. Require higher education or associates degree for examination
3. Sound field testing is it necessary.
4. Check on costs and fees for coursework and licensing
5. Disposable Hearing Aids
Each Board member is to
gather information from other states prior to the May meeting:
Dr. Cooper - Alaska, Illinois, Florida and Minnesota.
Steven Rademacher – Arizona, Iowa, New York and Colorado
Kelley Olenick – California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada
Kathleen Wachtler – Texas, Montana, Wyoming and Utah.
Dr. Cooper moved to
adjourn the meeting at 9:45a.m. Steven
Rademacher seconded the motion and the motion carried.
