REGULAR BOARD MEETING

Chairman Brockett called the meeting to order at 1:00p.m.

Kelley Olenick moved to approve the minutes of November 18, 1999. Steven Rademacher seconded the motion, motion carried.

Budd Hetrick presented the renewal form to be used this year. The Board approved the form for use.

Discussion was held on the 30 day grace period allowed in the law and the problems this presents with the licensing system. A law change is required to rectify the problems.

PERSI

Discussion was held on the PERSI contributions. The Board must contribute to PERSI unless a law change is made to delete the PERSI contribution.

Kelley Olenick moved to authorize the Bureau to start the process needed to change the law to remove the Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitter Board members from PERSI contribution. Steven Rademacher seconded the motion, motion carried.

Tom Limbaugh presented the financial report showing a positive balance of $32,989.78. Changes in the reporting of direct charges in the budget will be reflected in the next financial report.

Discussion was held on the term endings for Dr. Coleman, Jeff Brockett and Prudence Clem.

John Kersey distributed the disciplinary report. Kelley Olenick moved to go into executive session for potential litigation. Steven Rademacher seconded the motion, motion carried.

Kelley Olenick moved to come out of the executive session, Steve Rademacher seconded the motion, motion carried.

Kelley Olenick moved to follow the recommendation proposed by the Attorney General for cases HAD-P3-04-99-008 and HAD-P3-04-99-009 except to impose a 30-day suspension and two-year probation with costs and attorney fee recovery. Steven Rademacher seconded the motion, motion carried.

Kirsten Wallace, Deputy Attorney General, is to notify the Board by letter, the disposition of the cases.

Deborah Kay Tschannel met with the Board to discuss the application process she needs to re-instate her license.

Steven Rademacher moved to go into executive session to discuss the application process needed. Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.

Kelley Olenick moved to come out of executive session, Steven Rademacher seconded the motion, motion carried.

Kelley Olenick moved to deny licensure at this time. Application can be made upon completion of the probation and she will be required to submit documentation on rehabilitation. The application and fees are to be returned to her. Steven Rademacher seconded the motion, motion carried.

Discussion was held on the new licensure examination developed by International Hearing Society. The new examination covers the practical examination and the written examination. Idaho will have to include the Idaho Law portion for each of the candidates.

Kelley Olenick moved to adopt by policy the use of the new International Licensing Examination (ILE) Practical examination and the written examination. Steven Rademacher seconded the motion, motion carried.

The Board reviewed the quarterly reports.

The Board Business file was cleared with no action taken.

The minute book and certificates were signed.

The examination schedule and books were finalized.

Steven Rademacher moved to terminate the following application files for lack of activity:

HAD 09-14-99 LC, HAD 10-19-98 CB, HAD 08-26-99 SRM and HAD 03-31-99 SAW.

Having no further business before them, Steven Rademacher moved to adjourn the meeting at 4:00p.m. Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.
