BOARD MEETING MINUTES

November 18, 1999

Chairman Brockett called the meeting to order at 1:05p.m.

Dan McCuskey moved to approve the minutes of May 13, 1999 meeting and June 17, 1999 conference call. Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried

Tom Limbaugh was introduced to the Board and presented the financial statement showing a positive balance of $3,9713.68. The contract between the Board and the Bureau was presented for review. Dan McCuskey moved for authorization for Jeff Brockett to sign the contract between the Bureau and the Board, Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.

Mr. Limbaugh will contact the Governor's office to check the status on new board member appointments.

Discussion was held on the new practical examination available from the International Hearing Society. A law change will be needed in order to take advantage of the new practical examination. Also, new rules from the Federal Drug Administration are expected to be published in March of 2000. The Board will review those rules and consider any necessary changes to Board rules at the same time they propose the examination law change.

John Kersey reported 10 complaints have been received in 1999 to date, and six are open and under investigation.

Kelley Olenick moved to go into executive session to discuss potential litigation on investigations, Dan McCuskey seconded the motion, motion carried.

Kelley Olenick moved to come out of executive session, Dan McCuskey seconded the motion, motion carried.

Prudence Clem moved to accept the recommendation for HAD-99-003. Dan McCuskey seconded the motion, motion carried.

Dan McCuskey moved to accept the recommendation for HAD-99-002. Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.

Dan McCuskey moved to accept the recommendation for HAD-97-007. Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.

Dan McCuskey moved to accept the recommendation for HAD-98-011. Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.

Kelley Olenick moved to accept the recommendation for HAD-97-005. Dan McCuskey seconded the motion, motion carried.

Prudence Clem moved to accept the recommendation for HAD-99-004. Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.

Dan McCuskey moved to accept the recommendation for HAD-98-009. Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.

BOARD BUSINESS FILE

The board business file was cleared with the following action:

A survey from NIHIS to be completed by Jeff Brockett.

NEW APPLICATIONS

Prudence Clem moved to approve the application for a temporary permit and examination for Kari Sorenson, Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.

Kelley Olenick moved to deny the application for temporary permit and examination of Deborah Kay Tschannell based upon the felony conviction. Dan McCuskey seconded the motion, motion carried.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

A course from Hearing Health International was presented to the Board for approval of the continuing education credits. The course was approved.

The minute book and travel vouchers were signed.

TERMINATION OF APPLICATIONS

Dan McCuskey moved to terminate the following applications for lack of activity:

Terryn Cash, Claire D. Horton, Colleen Marie Keith, Daniel S. Langston and James B. Millward.

Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.

EXAMINATION NOVEMBER 19, 1999

Of the thirteen examination candidates five passed the practical portion:

Having no further business before them, the meeting adjourned at 3:00p.m.
