Chairman Dan McCuskey called the meeting to order at 1:00p.m.
Jeff Brockett moved to approve the minutes of the November 12, 1998 board meeting. Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.
Randell Brown is to contact NIHIS about the new practical examination that is now available and report to the Board at the next meeting.
Budd Hetrick, Deputy Bureau Chief, distributed a draft copy of the renewal notice to be sent out. The Board recommended changes to the notice:
1. Send a copy of the Continuing Education certificates
2. The American Academy of Audiology is an approved CE provider.
After the revisions were completed, Jeff Brockett moved to approve the draft renewal notice for use. Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.
John Kersey, Supervising Investigator, reported three complaints have been received this year and all are under investigation. Of the twelve complaints from 1998, five are open and two complaints are open from 1997.
Mike Sturmak has assisted the Bureau in reviewing complaints in the Boise area and the Board approves his continuing help.
An Audiologist is needed to review complaints in North Idaho. The Board recommends Bob Shepard.
BOARD MEETING AND EXAMINATION DATES FOR NOVEMBER
Because of Veteran's Day, Jeff Brockett moved to change the examination date to November 19, 1999 and the Board meeting to November 18, 1999. Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.
ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN
Kelley Olenick moved to elect Jeff Brockett as chairman effective June 30, 1999. Dan McCuskey seconded the motion, motion carried.
The Board reviewed quarterly reports, signed certificates and the minute book.
The Board prepared the examinations for May 14, 1999 administration.
The Board, by consensus, moved to terminate the application file of Paul Dworshak.
Dan McCuskey's term of office expires June 30, 1999. Mr. McCuskey is to write a letter to Governor Kempthorne on the expiration of his term.
Jeff Brockett moved to adjourn the meeting at 2:13p.m. Kelley Olenick seconded the motion, motion carried.
