PROPOSED LAW CHANGE
Roger Hales stated the Idaho Health Care Association sent over drafted language for a law change on Idaho Code 54-4207 subject matter of examination. Mr. Hales then made some revisions, it was sent to the board for their review, and then it went back to the Association. The Association had concerns so Mr. Hales met with Kris Ellis, from IHCA, and together they came up with the latest revision.
The changes to the statute would recognize more than one examination for licensure. Ms. Meyer asked Roger if at a later date the board were to go to level licensure if this change would allow for that. Roger stated yes. Ms. Meyer stated she was in support of the change.
Kris Ellis stated she has a sponsor to carry the legislation if the board is in support of the proposed law change.
Linda Simon stated she is in support. Sharon Ashcraft stated she will have questions about specifics down the road. Mr. Hales added that the board will be doing some rule changes after the law change passes.
Ione Springer asked if the new examination will test on the five domains. Kris Ellis stated that it would. The board added that they would like to pilot the exam before approving the one being developed by Headmasters.
Vicky Goettsche stated she didnít have any questions.
A motion was made by Ms. Ashcraft to accept the language as proposed by the Association and reviewed by Mr. Hales on Idaho Code 54-4207 subject matter of examination. Seconded by Ms. Meyer, motion carried.
