ROLL CALL: Verlene Kaiser, Chairman
ABSENT/EXCUSED: Shirlie Meyer
ALSO PRESENT: Budd Hetrick, Deputy Attorney General

Janice Wiedrick, Office Specialist II
Chairman Kaiser called
the meeting to order at 9:01a.m. Mountain Daylight Savings Time.
Discussion was held on
the restructuring of the Health and Welfare Facility Standards law and rules.
Ms. Springer moved that
Verlene Kaiser, Chairman, go to the Health and Welfare meeting to give the
history of the Board to the Restructuring Committee as Board spokesperson.
Mr. Madsen seconded the motion and it carried.
Mr. Madsen moved that the Board:
Support the Assisted Living Proposal of April 23, 2004 as it relates to specialty licensure of administrators;
Does not have the resources to develop the educational programs necessary for the specialty licensure designation;
Would support such programs being approved by the State educational system and;
Is concerned that specialty licensure may require an increase in Administratorís licensure fees.
Ms. Springer seconded the
motion and it carried.
Two new Board members
were announced: Terri Pendleton was
appointed to replace Myron Higbee who retired, and Sharon Ashcraft was appointed
to succeed Ken Madsen, effective July 1, 2004.
Chairman Kaiser or Ms.
Meyer were approved to attend the NAB meeting.
Having no further business before them, Mr. Madsen moved the call end at 10:45a.m. Ms. Springer seconded the motion and it carried.
