Board Meeting Minutes of 5/29/2009

Meeting was called to order at 10:10 AM MDT by John Downey.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

 

The Board reviewed the May 8, 2009 Board meeting minutes. It was moved by Ms. Brownson to approve the May 8, 2009 minutes. Seconded by Mr. Raymond, motion carried.

 

PROPOSED RULES

 

Ms. Cory presented the Board a draft copy of the proposed rules regarding reducing the application fee and renewal fees. It was moved by Mr. Raymond that the Board approve the proposed rules reducing the original license fee to $100.00; renewal fees for licenses and certification to $125.00; and technician to $75.00. Seconded by Ms. Brownson, motion carried.

 

STIPULATION AND CONSENT ORDER

 

Mr. Klein presented the Board Stipulation and Consent Order for case ACU-2009-4. It was moved by Mr. Raymond that the Board approve the Stipulation and Consent Order for ACU-2009-4 and authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the Board. Seconded by Ms. Brownson, motion carried.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

The Board reviewed material on an acupuncture course and exam, taught by Dr. Lawrence Beam from the Cleveland Chiropractic College, to meet the technician requirements. It is moved by Mr. Raymond that the Board approve the acupuncture course and exam to meet the technician requirements. Seconded by Ms. Brownson, motion carried.

 

The Board reviewed two continuing education trainings from “The Orchard Studio”. It was moved by Mr. Raymond that the Board approve the course “Foundation Cranial Class” for 32 hours and the course “Tui Na Foundations” for 12 hours. Seconded by Ms. Brownson, motion carried.

 

The Board discussed the new wall certificates and having members’ signatures scanned to print on the certificates. It was moved by Mr. Raymond to approve the scanned signatures on the wall certificates. Seconded by Ms. Horsewood, motion carried.

 

The Board reviewed two items of correspondences and directed them to be reviewed by legal counsel for response.

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION

 

It was moved by Mr. Raymond that the Board enter executive session to review applications and continuing education audits exempt from public disclosure per Idaho Code 67-2345(1)(d). Seconded by Ms. Brownson, motion carried. Individual votes for this motion were: Ms. Brownson, aye; Mr. Raymond, aye; Ms. Horsewood, aye; and Mr. Downey, aye.

 

It was moved by Mr. Raymond that the Board enter regular session. Seconded by Ms. Horsewood, motion carried. Individual votes for this motion were: Ms. Brownson, aye; Mr. Raymond, aye; Ms. Horsewood, aye; and Mr. Downey, aye.

 

APPLICATIONS

 

It was moved by Mr. Raymond that the Board approve Christopher Steckler and Cass Mabbutt for licensure and Noah Edvalson for technician. Seconded by Ms. Horsewood, motion carried.

 

It was moved by Ms. Horsewood to deny the applications of 901072910 and 901030831 and refer them to legal counsel to respond. Seconded by Mr. Raymond, motion carried.

 

NEXT BOARD MEETING

 

The Board changed the July 10, 2009 Board meeting to July 24, 2009 at 10:00 AM MDT.

Moved by Mr. Raymond that the meeting adjourn at 12:12 PM MDT. Seconded by Ms. Horsewood, motion carried.
