Licensure Application Process
Idaho law requires the licensure of all persons who practice or offer to practice as a real estate appraiser in the State of Idaho. Licensure is available through both examination and reciprocity. Idaho currently maintains reciprocity agreements with Wyoming, Washington, Utah, Oregon & Louisiana.
There are specific education & experience requirements for those seeking licensure by examination. Those requirements are outlined in Board Rules. Additional information is available on the Trainee Registration page.
The AQB rules are changing for licensure requirements as of January 1, 2008. Idaho has adopted the “segmented” approach. In order to be considered under this approach, all of an applicants’ educational requirements must have been met prior to January 1, 2008.
> Please note that in order to be eligible under the segmented approach, all education and experience credit must be received and approved by the board, the exam must be taken and passed, and the board must have issued the license prior to January 1, 2011. There is no grace period under these requirements. <
