IDAHO STATE BOARD OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS
Conference Call
May 31, 2007
ROLL CALL: William Dial, Chairman
James Thomas
Stanley Griswold
ALSO PRESENT: Tana Cory, Bureau Chief
Roger Hales, Administrative Attorney
Cherie Simpson, Management Assistant
Janice Wiedrick, Technical Records Specialist I
Chairman Dial called the meeting to order at 11:04a.m.
Discussion was held on the Ada County Ordinance as it pertains to Landscape Architecture and the scope of practice. The ordinance requires an Engineer of Record for the project, even though it allows a landscape architect to seal the plans or drawings. If the Engineer of Record has had no input into the Landscape Architect’s work, the Engineer of Record would be unable to stamp the plans.
The Ordinance recognizes Design Professionals and the Design Professionals are able to seal plans that they are directly involved with, which would include landscape architects.
Mr. Thomas moved to have Roger Hales talk with Dave Curtis and the Ada County Attorney to discuss this matter. Mr. Griswold seconded, and the motion carried.
Having no further business before them, Mr. Thomas moved to adjourn the call at 11:35a.m. Mr. Griswold seconded, and the motion carried.
