Call Meeting Minutes of August 11, 2005

Chairman Dr. Mayo called the meeting to order at 11:33 a.m.
Mr. Hetrick presented the Fiscal year 2006 Bureau/Board contract to the Board. The Board reviewed the renewal form addendum which indicates the board’s new budget of $58,000. Moved by Dr. Gaertner-Ewing to accept the contract. Seconded by Dr. Moldenhauer, motion carried.
The Board discussed possible law and rule change regarding clinical nutritional methods. Moved by Dr. Moldenhauer that he would approach the Chiropractic Association to see if the Association would be willing to carry a bill for a law change on clinical nutritional methods. Seconded by Dr. Gaertner-Ewing, motion carried.
The Board discussed Athletic Trainers and directed Mr. Hales to research and if possible to go forward with a law change this year.
The Board discussed continuing education and asked that the Bureau send the criteria for quality continuing education information on disk to all the board members to review for the next board meeting.
Moved by Dr. Moldenhauer to enter executive session to discuss letter exempt from public disclosure. Seconded by Dr. Gaertner-Ewing, motion carried.
Moved by Dr. Gaertner-Ewing to enter regular session. Seconded by Mr. Shiosaki, motion carried.
Moved by Dr. Moldenhauer that Mr. Hales send a letter to Dr. Harold Roberts addressing the Board’s position on the peer review committee. Seconded by Dr. Gaertner-Ewing, motion carried.
Moved by Dr. Moldenhauer to enter executive session to discuss applicant files exempt from public disclosure. Seconded by Dr. Gaertner-Ewing, motion carried.
Moved by Dr. Mouldenhauer to enter regular session. Seconded by Dr. Gaertner-Ewing, motion carried.
Moved by Dr. Gaertner-Ewing that the Board send a letter to applicant DCA-1141 stating that they have not met the requirements for licensure based upon not passing the required National Board Examination Part III, Physiotherapy and SPEC. Seconded by Mr. Shiosaki, motion carried.
Moved by Dr. Gaertner-Ewing that the Board schedule their next meeting at the Bureau on September 28, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. Seconded by Dr. Moldenhauer, motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 12:45 p.m.
