MINUTES OF June 27, 2000
Meeting was called to order at 9:15 a.m. by Board Chair.

Minutes of the January 27, 2000 meeting were reviewed. Moved by Dr. West that minutes be approved as submitted, seconded by Dr. Harper, carried.
Mr. Limbaugh reviewed the financial statement with the Board. Discussion was held on the costs and budget for peer review.
John Kersey distributed and reviewed the investigative report with the Board. Moved by Dr. West that Board go into executive session to discuss potential litigation, seconded by Dr. Harper, carried. Moved by Dr. Harper that Board come out of executive session, seconded by Dr. West, carried. Moved by Dr. Harper that the Board accept Ms. Wallace’s recommendations for complaint CHI-P2A-01-98-010. Seconded by Dr. West, carried.
Budd Hetrick discussed the patient freedom of information act and the impact on the Board at this time. The Board was given copies of the laws that pertain to the Patient Freedom of Information Act.
Break from 10:15 to 10:30 a.m.
Dr. Moldenhaur appeared before the Board to give an update on the peer review committee. The committee currently has seven Chiropractic Physicians on the committee. As it is renewal time it was determined that a letter needs to be mailed to all chiropractors requesting volunteers for the committee for the upcoming year.
Recess for lunch until 1:35 p.m.
Moved by Dr. Harper that the Board authorize training for this years peer review pool. Seconded by Dr. West, carried.
Moved by Dr. Harper that a copy of the laws and rules be sent to all licensed chiropractors along with the volunteer request letter for peer review. Seconded by Dr. West, carried.
Moved by Dr. Harper that the Board research the cost to distribute "Job Analysis of Chiropractic" to all colleges and high schools in Idaho along the laws and rules and a cover letter. Seconded by Dr. West, carried.
Moved by Dr. Sterling that Board purchase enough of the new edition of "Vertebral Subluxation in Chiropractic Practice" for each board member to review and discuss at next meeting for consideration as a document worthy as an information source under 600.04.b of peer review rules. Seconded by Dr. Harper, carried.
Discussion was held on the possibility of the Board funding a relicensure workshop in the future.
Moved by Dr. Harper that the findings from Institute of Evidence-Based Chiropractic on the "Job Analysis of Chiropractic 2000" be sent to NBCE in hopes that it will be useful to them in the future. Seconded by Dr. West, carried.
PRECEPTORESHIP
Dr. West will put together information on ideas for a temporary rule change for preceptors and submit to Roger for his review.
Moved by Dr. West, seconded by Dr. Harper that Board go into executive session, carried.
Moved by Dr. West, seconded by Dr. Harper to come out of executive session.
Moved by Dr. West that the Board hold a telephone conference call on July 11, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. mdt to discuss preceptoreship, peer review forms, and proposed rule changes. Seconded by Dr. Harper, carried.
Moved by Dr. West that, since the practice of acupuncture has historically been a part of the practice of chiropractors since 1972, and has been taught in chiropractic colleges and included in postgraduate work, the Board pursue certification procedures for chiropractors within the state of Idaho. Seconded by Dr. Harper, carried.
Moved by Dr. Harper that the Board adjourn. Seconded by Dr. West, carried.
