Training & Application Process
Idaho law requires all persons seeking licensure to provide documented proof of meeting the training requirements. The training requirements necessary to obtain a license to practice barbering and barber-styling in the State of Idaho are outlined below. (If you are licensed in another state, please return to the Licensure Application Process.)NOTE: Original Training and Graduation Records must be submitted DIRECTLY from the school to the Bureau. The Bureau WILL NOT accept these records from the student/applicant.

Barber-Styling:
Schools are required to register all students with the Board within five (5) days of beginning instruction. Each barber college, before admitting any student to enrollment, must send an application, together with all the required documentation, to the Board. If the Board finds that the applicant fails to meet its requirements, the Board shall at once notify the college and the applicant and state its reasons why the student should not be admitted for training.
School personnel may obtain and download a current student roster of all students registered with the Board.
You may download the applications to register as a Student, or request applications from the Bureau office. The application for a permit to train as a Student Instructor in either Barbering or Barber-Styling is also available.
