Meeting Minutes of July 11, 2005

ROLL CALL:             Leslie Thorson-Chair

ALSO PRESENT:     Rayola Jacobsen, Bureau Chief

                                   Roger Hales, Administrative Attorney

                                   Kim Aksamit, Secretary

                                   Ken Stringfield, Deputy Attorney General

Ms. Thorson called the meeting to order at 9:04 am. 

Gussie O’Connor was introduced as the new Board Member. 

Moved by Mr. Moriarty to accept the minutes from March 14, 2005, seconded by Ms. O’Connor; motion carried. 

Ken Stringfield, Deputy Attorney General, presented the recommendation regarding case number BAR-2005-2. The Board accepted the recommendation. 

Motion made by Mr. Moriarty after further consideration to wait 1 year for any rule changes, seconded by, Ms. O’Connor; motion carried. Ms. O’Connor recused herself from the discussion on this matter. 

Motion made by Mr. Moriarty to elect Ms. Thorson as Board Chair, seconded by Ms. O’Connor; motion carried. 

Motion made by Ms. O’Connor to elect Mr. Moriarty as Vice Chair, seconded by Mr. Moriarty; motion carried. 

The next Barber exam will be held on July 27, 2005. 

Motion made by Mr. Moriarty for all 3 Board Members to attend the 79^th Annual Conference of the National Association of Barber Board of America, seconded by Ms. O’Connor; motion carried. 

Motion made by Mr. Moriarty to go into executive session to consider records exempt from disclosure as provided in chapter 3, title 9, Idaho Code, seconded by Ms. O’Connor; motion carried. 

Motion made by Mr. Moriarty to come out of executive session, seconded by, Ms. Thorson; motion carried.
