Regular Board Minutes of July 9, 2001

ROLL CALL: Cher Stone; Leslie Thorson; 

ALSO PRESENT: Budd Hetrick, Deputy Bureau Chief; John Kersey, Chief Investigator; Roger Hales, Administrative Attorney; Marilyn London, Secretary

Cher Stone called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

Leslie Thorson moved to approve the March 12, 2001 minutes. Curtis Park seconded, and the motion carried.

John Kersey reported that (2) two complaints were received for the year 2001. Of those, one (1) remains under investigation. Complaint file BAR- L5B-02-01-001 was closed without action.

Budd Hetrick presented the finance report, which indicates a balance of $89,753.54 as of June 30, 2001.

Leslie Thorson and Curtis Park will be attending the barber convention September 16 through 20, 2001 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Board reviewed the draft copy of the new rules and Roger Hales will make the changes the board requested.

Cher Stone will draft state law questions from the new barber stylist requirements and send them to the Bureau for review.

Barber applicants must submit certified copies of high school transcripts for their application file. If the applicant cannot obtain a certified copy than the board will take it into consideration.

The Board set the next meeting and exam dates for November 5, 2001 and March 11, 2002. Examination dates could be added as the needed. 

The meeting adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
