IDAHO STATE ATHLETIC COMMISSION

July 23, 2007

Meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m.

Commissioner present: Tom Katsilometes

Deputy Commissioners: Jon Vestal, James Grow, and Dan Huff absent.

Bureau staff present:  Tana Cory, Bureau Chief, Budd Hetrick Deputy Bureau Chief, 

Kim Aksamit Board Secretary, Roger Hales, Administrative Attorney.

Others present:  Kasey Thompson-Knockout Promotions, Tayler Irvin-WCSF, Sean Roberts-Knockout Promotions, and John Holsman-Professional Announcer.

Ms. Cory presented the legislative report.

Mr. Hetrick presented the financial report.

Mr. Katsilometes requested language to be written in law or rule to allow for a cash bond.

Discussion was held regarding time line for paper work to be in to the Bureau and the

Commissioner requested that a completed application with a completed fight card be

submitted 30 days prior to an event. 

Mr. Hales explained to the Commission the exemption of sanctioning bodies that have

been approved by the Commission to sanction amateur events.

Discussion was held on putting together an application for an amateur sanctioning

body seeking approval by the Commission.

Mr. Katsilometes requested that language be written to be put in the rule that all fighters

have the same brand, same style, and same weight of gloves.

Mr. Katsilometes has requested that promoters supply gloves for all fighters and to supply

new gloves for the main event.

Discussion was held regarding security around the ring.

Mr. Katsilometes requested that language be written to change the license fee for officials

to 10.00 dollars.

The commission denied the request for payment regarding expenses for Little Joes Boxing

at the Shilo Inn and JB’s restaurant.  

Mr. Hales presented the proposed rules.

Mr. Katsilometes approved the proposed rules.
