IDAHO STATE ATHLETIC COMMISSION MEETING

August 15, 2006

 

Meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m.

 

Those in attendance: Tom Katsilometes, Commissioner

 

Bureau of Occupational Licenses, Rayola Jacobsen, Bureau Chief; Budd Hetrick Deputy Bureau Chief; John Kersey Chief

Investigator; Kim Aksamit, Secretary; Roger Hales, Administrative Attorney; Office of the Attorney General, Dave High;

 

Others: Cleveland Corder Professional Fighters; Kasey Thompson Knockout Promotions;

Tayler Irvin; Sean Roberts Knockout Promotions; John Holsman Professional Announcer;

Tag Hawks, White Knuckle; Dave Hanson White Knuckle; Tom Supnet Knockout Promotions; Ray Perales.

 

Attorney Roger Hales interpreted law and rule regarding; requirement of a bond, medical and liability insurance, complementary

tickets and passes, what are gross receipts, and the proper advertising with the use of sanction permit number. 

 

Discussion was held that all bonds must be one hundred thousand dollars.

 

Discussion was held that all promoters must hold medical and liability insurance per event.

 

Discussion was held on how many tickets need to be given to the Commission per event, a list will be provided by Commissioner

Katsilometes on who would need a ticket.

 

Agreement was made between Commissioner Katsilometes and Knockout Promotions that Knockout Promotions will know

before an event how many tickets will be needed.

 

Discussion was held that the Commission will provide all officials for an MMA event.

 

Attorney Roger Hales informed the audience that the gross receipt report must be submitted to the Bureau of Occupational

Licenses within 72 hours of any contest or exhibition.

 

Discussion was held that all contracts be sent to the Bureau 1 month in advance and blood work 2 weeks in advance of an event.

 

A determination was mad by Mr. Katsilometes with the agreement of those in attendance that blood work be into the Bureau 2

weeks required and 1 week cut off.  If it is not into the Bureau by the one week cut off they do not get signed up.

 

Ms. Jacobsen suggested that definitions of the different fights be posted to the Bureau website.

 

Attorney Roger Hales gave his advice to the Commission that before suspending someone’s license they should provide them

with notice and an opportunity to be heard.

 

Mr. Katsilometes appointed Dan Huff as Deputy Commissioner for Mixed Martial Arts.
