MINUTES OF August 19, 2003

Call commenced at 4:30 p.m. mdt.    Purpose of the meeting was to review and approve rules for continuing education requirements for renewal of architect license.  

Discussion was held on clock hours versus learning units.  A definition of learning units will be included in the rules as learning units are the accepted measure for continuing education credits. 

A policy will be adopted which will include a full itemized list of the types of continuing education.  

It was determined that 5% of the licensees will be audited for continuing education compliance once it becomes a rule. 

Moved by Mr. Giltzow that the rules be approved once Mr. Hales and Mr. Nelson complete the proposed rules on August 20, 2003.  Seconded by Mr. Cole, carried. 

Moved by Mr. Cole that members of the engineering community be invited to their meeting on September 12^th to discuss some concerns that the Board is having.  It was suggested that those invited include:  Dave Curtis, Director of the engineer board; the Board Chair; Dave Bennion, and Molly Creswell. 

Moved by Mr. Cole to adjourn at 5:35 p.m.  Seconded by Mr. Giltzow, carried.
