CONFERENCE CALL MINUTES OF JUNE 21, 2002

10:00 a.m. Call commenced at 10:04 a.m. mdt.  Roll call:  Stan Cole, Nicholas Latham, Alan Giltzow, and R.G. Nelson.  Bureau staff present:  Rayola Jacobsen and Cherie Simpson.

Discussion was held on the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands’ letter soliciting support in voting down Resolution 02-12 during the NCARB meeting in Boston.  The Board determined they would support the N. Mariana Islands.  Further discussion was held on future fee increases proposed by NCARB.  The Board will take the matter to the Region IV meeting in Boston to be held in conjunction with NCARB.

Mr. Giltzow addressed his concerns on the cost of registration fees for family members to attend NCARB functions. 

Travel arrangements to Boston were discussed.

Letters were read from Urban Design Group and Pyatok Architects Inc. dealing with foreign corporations practicing in Idaho.  After discussion the Board directed the Bureau to forward the correspondence to legal counsel for a response.

Moved by Mr. Nelson that the board meeting scheduled for September 20, 2002 be held in Sun Valley in conjunction with the AIA Design Awards, that Bureau staff attend the meeting, and that reimbursement be made for rental cars.  Seconded by Mr. Giltzow, carried.
