The meeting was called
to order by Acting Chairman Stan Cole at 9:00 a.m. in the
Conference room of the
Bureau of Occupational Licenses.
Moved by Mr. Giltzow to approve minutes of
October 5, 2001 meeting as submitted. Seconded
by Mr. Latham, carried.
Moved by Mr. Latham to go into executive session
to discuss potential litigation. Seconded
by Mr. Reese, carried.
Moved by Mr. Giltzow to come out of executive
session. Seconded by Mr. Latham,
carried.
Moved by Mr. Nelson that Ms. Wallace’s
recommendation be accepted for complaint number ARC-L14-03-01-007. Seconded by Mr. Latham, carried.
Moved by Mr. Giltzow that Ms. Wallace’s
recommendation be accepted for complaint number ARC-P1-01-00-010 with copies
sent to the manufacturer and the prosecutor.
Seconded by Mr. Latham, carried.
Moved by Mr. Latham that Ms. Wallace’s
recommendation be accepted for complaint number ARC-L1A-02B-01-004. Seconded by Mr. Nelson, carried.
Mr. Hetrick explained that we do not have a
printed financial report due to update to the program, but that copies would be
mailed to members of the Board when it is available.
He did present the contract for services between the Board and the Bureau
for review. Moved by Mr. Giltzow
that the contract be executed by the Vice-Chair on the behalf of the Board.
Seconded by Mr. Nelson, carried.
Thom Lowther, AIA Continuing Education System
gave a presentation on the programs they provide for architects in continuing
education. Members of Idaho’s
Association present were: Connies
Searles, Linda Kelsey, Jim Murray, Larry Kom, and Dale Hickman. Mr. Lowther explained the history of their system and the
research done to implement the program. The
University of Oklahoma is the record keeper of the courses completed by
architects around the world. There
are currently 22 states utilizing this program for mandatory continuing
education credits.
Terry Brent Hilton appeared before the Board to
request reinstatement of his Idaho license which has been cancelled over five
years.
Moved by Mr. Nelson that board go into executive
session to discuss items not subject to public disclosure. Seconded by Mr. Latham, carried.
Moved by Mr. Nelson that Board come out of
executive session. Seconded by Mr.
Latham, carried.
Break for lunch until 1:30 p.m.
The Bureau will poll surrounding states on the
issue of continuing education requirements.
The next meeting will be held February 8, 2002.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS – Moved by Mr.
Nelson that Stan Cole be the Chairman for the next year.
Seconded by Mr. Giltzow, carried. Moved
by Mr. Nelson that Nicholas Latham be the Vice-Chair for the next year.
Seconded by Mr. Reese, carried.
Correspondence was reviewed from potential
applicant who is unable to provide references from three licensed architects.
The Board determined that they would accept references from past clients
or engineers.
Applications were reviewed.
Meeting ended at 2:50 p.m.
